With one out in the top of the 7th C-J had men on 1st and 2nd base, Gage Schenk (2B) would have a throwing error on what looked to be a game ending double play and that allowed the tying run to score and the inning would continue with the game tied at 1.

As the inning continued C-J would load the bases thanks to a stolen base, an intentional walk and another walk. With two outs LF Sebastian Gongora would single and drive in the two go ahead runs. The inning would end with the next hitter, but C-J would take a 3-1 lead to the bottom of the seventh.

It looked like in the bottom of the 6th inning that the Redskins had picked up the winning run. Virginia transfer Don Goodes would reach on a single, he then stole 2nd base, he would move on to 3rd base on a balk and would score score on a wild pitch giving Wapakoneta a 1-0 lead on and a chance to win the State title in the top of the inning.
The Eagles had just three hits on the night , with the biggest one coming from Gongora’s two RBI single.
Wapakonneta was led by Goode who was 2 for 3 on the night and scored the only run.
C-J’s Nick Wissman picks up the complete game win, allowing just 4 hits, 1 unearned run, walked just 2 and struck out 9.
For the Redskins, Joel Roediger pitched the first two innings giving up 2 hits, walked 2 and struck out 2 and no runs. Manny Vorhees finished the last five innings, giving up just one hit, he walked 5 and struck out 3 and was charged with the three runs and picks up the loss.
