(5-26-19) Seventh-seeded Ohio State won the 2019 Big Ten Tournament title after posting a 3-1 win over fifth-seeded Nebraska in the championship game Sunday at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha. The Buckeyes became the lowest seed to ever win the tournament.
Facing elimination in the first game vs Minnesota on Sunday, Seth Lonsway would get the start and last five innings giving up just one run, 4 hits, striking out 6 and walking just one to pick up the win and move the Buckeyes on to the Championship game vs Nebraska.

In the championship game, Brady Cherry paced the Buckeyes going with three hits on four at bats, while Nick Erwin, Conner Pohl and Cherry had an RBI apiece. The Buckeyes claimed their 10th Big Ten Tournament title and their first since 2016. Ohio State improves to 35-25 on the season and earns the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Ohio State had four players named to the Big 10 All-Tournament team , including three pitchers, Andrew Magno who was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player, Celina grad and Red Shirt freshman left handed pitcher Seth Lonsway, Griffan Smith (P) and Dillon Dingler (C).

The regular season is over and it s time to let all the madness begin with the conference tournaments. For Ohio State, that means it s time for the next installment of the Big Ten Basketball Tournament.
