Damon Dues and Seth Lonsway

(6-27-19) The Cape Cod Summer Collegiate Baseball League is considered by many to be the best in the US. Many of the top college stars spend their summers on the East Coast. This season two of the Brewster Whitecaps with strong Mercer County connections are teammates, Ohio State’s Seth Lonsway (Celina) and Wright State’s Damon Dues.

Lonsway leads many of the career pitching records as a Celina Bulldog during his four year high school career, while Damon Dues starred for Vandalia-Butler and his head coach and dad Trent Dues.

Last night Lonsway, who was just activated on the 24th,  made his pitching debut in relief for the Whitecaps in an 11-0 loss to Wareham. He did not give up a run in 1.2 innings, gave up just one hit, walking two and striking out two.

Dues, who is a shortstop, is hitting .231 on the season in 10 games played with the Whitecaps this season. The Mercer County connection for Dues comes from his Dad Trent…who was a multiple sport star for Coldwater.
