(10-28-19) Former Minster running star Emma Watcke has committed to continue her running career in the Big 10 at the University of Wisconsin. Watcke helped make the Minster girls cross country and track teams one of the top programs in Ohio.
Last winter after the Wildcats won another OHSAA cross country title, Watcke and her family moved to the Chicago suburbs. The move has helped the Hinsdale Central program who finished 2nd this week at the 3A Regional (first round in Illinois) in Lyons and will advance to the Sectionals.
Watcke led Central by finishing 2nd in a time of 17:34.

Living in Boston in 2002 – and three months after giving birth to daughter Emma – Molly McClimon Watcke placed 13th overall and was the fourth women’s finisher in the Race For The Cure 5-kilometer run.
Emma’s grandfather was University of Wisconsin track and field and cross country coaching legend Dan McClimon.
