UPDATEDBellmont was forced to postpone athletic practices and scrimmages until Aug. 31 because of COVID-19.


(8-13-20) According to a Berne Witness tweet today, the Adams County Health Officer has ordered that no fans will be able to attend any sporting events at the school.

Yesterday the ACHD posted news about an outbreak from an event on July 30th in Decatur, 13 positive tests came back from that event.

As of today, of the 117 indicated, 76 cases are active.
We have had 27 NEW cases this week alone.
Initial interviews are in progress for 7 new cases.
Out of 117, 10 cases have been hospitalized.


To this point in time individual school districts have set standards for fan attendance at athletic events. The North Adams School Districts first day is set for this Monday, August 17.

Start of School – Revised Plans – IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT


Parents and Guardians,
Please read this important message from North Adams Community Schools. New information, and the growing spread of COVID in our community, has required us to revise our plans for the start to school. Please read this information, carefully.

At this time, On Campus classes, scheduled to begin on Monday, have been postponed.

As a response to this decision, devices will be distributed on Monday, August 17th. Daytime and evening hours will be provided for students and a parent to pick up devices. Detailed information will be sent out promptly.

Beginning on Tuesday, August 18th, all students grades K through 12 will begin school online through eLearning. This includes both students who have previously selected On Campus and those who selected eLearning.

There will be no On Campus learning until Monday, August 31st.

With these changes brings some additional updates. The Bellmont High School Open House, scheduled for Sunday, is cancelled. Additionally, all Middle School and High School athletics, including practices and games, have been suspended until August 31st.

We are committed to creating the safest environment for students and staff to return to school. We will reevaluate our return and conditions for the following week by August 27th and provide updates at that time.
