(9-16-20) The OHSAA is getting ready for the 2020 state playoffs. It will be a year long remembered in the history of Ohio High School football.
This is the way it will be set-up:
- -all schools are eligible regardless of records (if they notified and opted in by September 17th with the OHSAA)
- Schools may withdraw from the playoffs without penalty until September 24th
- week 7 will be the 1st round of the playoffs (weeks 8, 9 and 10 will continue the playoffs, teams who lose during those weeks can schedule games)
- new football regions will be drawn Friday, September 18th
- coaches will vote for seeding September 29th and 30th
- brackets will be posted October 1st
- higher seeds will host at least through the regional semifinals.
- football pre-sale ticket shares/bonuses will not be paid out to member schools participating in 2020-21 OHSAA tournaments.
- no team expenses will be paid to member schools participating in 2020-21 OHSAA tournaments.
- no sites have yet been selected or secured for state semifinals or finals games

Considering all that has taken place since March, although the format is not preferred, it allows for schools to compete in a state tournament setting. It is a win for the OHSAA and Ohio players, coaches and fans.
