(5-15-21) Today at Hardin Northern the Perry boys team and the Lehman Catholic girls teams picked up 2021 Northwest Central Conference (NWCC) Track and Field titles.
The Perry boys beat 2nd place Hardin Northern 123.5- 93, While the Lehman Catholic girls edged by 2nd place Waynesfield-Goshen 144-132.
It was the last NWCC Track meet for both Lehman Catholic and Riverside who are leaving next school year for the new Three Rivers Conference.

Perry’s Brady Yingst (Jr) won three events, the 800 meter run (1:58.81 a new NWCC record), 1,600 meter run (4:34.11) and the 3,200 meter run (9:45.00 a new NWCC record), he added a second in the 400 meter run. Yingst and Lehman Catholic’s Cy Starcher who won the 400 meter dash were named the Co-MVPs of the meet.

Waynesfield-Goshen’s Taylor Spencer (Soph) won three events and was named the MVP for the meet.
She posted three new meet records:
- 3,200 meter run with a time of 11:36.55 (previous record – Lehman Catholic’s Jenna Zimmerman’s time of 12:22.15 in 2015)
- 800 meter run in 2:20:48 (old record set by Riverside’s Katie Kite of 2:28.26 in 2009)
- 1,600 meter run in 5:15.29 (old record set by Lehman Catholic’s Jenna Zimmerman’s time of 5:47.03 in 2015)
- 400 meter run – 2nd place finish
Helping Lehman Catholic to the title was the Cavaliers’ Kiersten Franklin who won the 400 meter run in a NWCC record time of 58.37
