(7-5-21) Ft. Loramie thought they had a found a permanent home in the Cross County Conference (CCC) in football…that all ends this season when the Redskins will become an independent. The divorce that took place in the CCC would end up creating two new conferences – Three Rivers Conference (TRC) and the Western Ohio Athletic Conference (WOAC). For the Redskins when the music stopped they found themselves without a seat.
Ft. Loramie’s all-sport league is the Shelby County Athletic League (SCAL)…but one sport it does not sponsor is football. One other SCAL member has football and that is Anna…who is a football only member of the Midwest Athletic Conference since 2005. The Rockets many would say were lucky enough to have started football a year or two before the Redskins and that landed them the MAC invitation.
The Redskins run as an independent might last for a long time…their success (just like Lima Central Catholic) makes them a hard sell for future membership in a league.
