(7-23-21) MLB’s Cleveland Indians made it official today…they are now the Guardians. The change came after social pressure from numerous groups who felt the name was an insult to Native Americans.

Known as the Indians for over 100 years since 1915, the name change will take place at the end of the 2021 season.

The logo does use many of the same traits the Indian named has carried of the years.

Several local schools still us the Indians and Redskins as their mascots.
