(8-4-21) Pending board approval, New Knoxville announces that Carson Manger will be the new boys’ basketball head coach. Carson is a graduate of New Bremen High School and went on to play collegiality at Lake Superior State University.

Manger completed his first season on the BGSU women’s basketball coaching staff in 2020-21. Manger, a native of New Bremen, Ohio, was a four-year letter-winner at Lake Superior State University.

During his playing career with the Lakers, Manger played in a total of 108 games, making 51 starts. He scored a total of 862 points, making 137 three-point field goals and shooting nearly 40 percent from the arc during his career.

Manger also had 350 rebounds and 140 assists in his LSSU career, shooting 43.4% from the field and playing a total of 2,235 minutes.

Manger went to LSSU after a high-school career at New Bremen. He earned four letters in basketball, averaging 19.9 points and 8.7 rebounds per game as a senior in 2014-15. Manger averaged 16.1 points and five boards in his junior year. In addition to earning four basketball letters, he also earned three letters in football while competing in track and field for one season as well.

Manger graduated from LSSU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kiniesiology / Exercise Science and a minor in Nutrition. He is pursuing a Master’s degree in Education at BGSU, specializing in Sport Administration.
