
(8-14-21) Anthony Wayne tweeted today that veteran baseball coach Mark Nell was retiring. Nell who coached for 37 years ends his career 538-192, while Anthony Wayne he was 443-163 over 21 seasons.

Nell served as the Pitching Coach and the recruiting coordinator for Bowling Green State University throughout most of the 1990’s. During his playing days he was an Outfielder and Pitcher at Princeton High School in Cincinnati. He also wrestled and played safety for the Vikings Football Program. During his senior year, Princeton won the football state championship game with Coach Nell as the starting safety. Nell led Anthony Wayne to multiple NLL Championships, District Championships, several Regional Runner-Ups, a Regional Championship, and during the 2018 season a State Championship Runner-Up.
His last game as the Generals coach was in this year’s district semifinal in a 3-0 loss to Bowling Green.
