FORT WAYNE, Ind. (11-16-21) – The University of Saint Francis volleyball team is excited to announce that the Crossroads League has announced that outside hitter Paige Fortkamp (Ft. Recovery) earned Crossroads League Freshman of the Year.

Throughout the season, Fortkamp led the Cougars to a team-leading 366 kills averaging 3.8 kills per set. Her 397.5 points led the team through the season by over 150 points, as runner-up Haidyn Carrico totaled 241 points.

“Paige had an amazing first season.She is such a great worker who studies the game really well and made terrific adjustments to her play all season. We leaned on her a lot this season, and she handled the pressure very well for a freshman outside hitter. To lead THIS conference in kills per set and total kills is an amazing accomplishment and was recognized by a majority of the Crossroads League coaches.”

Fortkamp was also selected to the Crossroads League 1st team.
