(12-10-21) It is a night that the Shawnee girls basketball team will always remember. The Indians beat Bath 42-38 for the first time in school history to end a 61 game losing streak to the Wildcats. The two teams, both members of the Western Buckeye League and from Lima, made the win extra special for Shawnee.
Shawnee head coach Rachel Rumbaugh told the Lima News after the game –
“They gave everything the had. That last fourth quarter I couldn’t have asked them to work harder. I am so proud of the way they finished. It’s a great feeling and I am really happy for these girls.”
With the win Shawnee improves to 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in the WBL. Bath drops to 3-2 on the year and 1-1 in league. The Shawnee JV also picked up a win beating Bath 32-20.
