(3-16-22) Veteran Boys Basketball Coach Coach Tom Souder is retiring from coaching basketball at Worthington Kilbourne after 22 years. Souder is a Ft. Recovery grad and started his coaching career in 1978 at Elida as the JV Coach.
Last season Souder was named Ohio’s D I Co-Coach of the Year after leading the Wolves to a 17-5 season. Souder was also named the Ohio Capital Conference Capital Division Coach of the Year after leading the Wolves to the school’s first ever Ohio Capital Conference Boys Basketball Championship, finishing the year with a league record of 12-2.
The Wolves set the school record for wins in a season as they finished the year at 17-5 overall.
1978-79 Elida JV Basketball Team that went 13-5 in Souder’s first coaching job –

Souder’s first head varsity coaching job was at Allen East and then he went on to coach Edgewood. Souder then became a college assistant coach including stops at Ohio State, University of Hartford and Eastern Kentucky.
Souder would coach his first Worthington squad in 2000. He ends his career with 276 wins.
