(5-2-22) Portage Northern has named Kevin White as the new Huskies Boys Head Basketball Coach.

He replaces Steve Hawkins after just one season at Northern-

Last season the Huskies went 1-20, their only win of the season was over Vicksburg 57-46.

Hawkins left Northern to take over the Quincy University Head Coaching position.

This past school year White was the Recruiting Coordinator and Assistant Coach at Aquinas College – Grand Rapids. The year before he was the Recruting Coordintaor at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. He was also the recruiting coordinator at Kalamazoo College.

He has been an Assistant and JV coach Kalamazoo Central.

He is a graduate of Kalamazoo Hackett and Western Michigan.
