(5-18-22) Kadin Schrock (16), a high school sophomore at Fairfield (Ind) HS, died in an accidental drowning in Elkhart County on Sunday.

According to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Schrock’s body was found Sunday afternoon after he went missing in a private pond in Syracuse (71000 block of C.R. 29). Witnesses said Schrock fell into the water after swinging on a rope swing from an elevated platform.

Kadin Schrock was a three-sport athlete involved in wrestling, football, and baseball.

OBITUARY

Kadin M. Schrock, 16, died Sunday, May 15, due to a swimming accident.

He was born October 10, 2005, in Goshen to Darin and Jennifer (Stepek) Schrock. They survive along with six siblings, Myra, Lia, “Gator”, “CC”, “PJ” and Jax, all at home; grandparents, Ernie and Gail Schrock, Milford; Mike and Betty Stepek, Boonville; uncles and aunts, Mike and Kristin, Ligonier and Jessica and Brad, Terre Haute.

A sophomore student at Fairfield High School, Kadin was active in baseball and football. He enjoyed being with friends and loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing. Kadin was a beloved, son, brother, grandson, nephew and faithful friend who will be sorely missed and forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 22, from 2 to 7 p.m. at Maple City Chapel, Goshen, and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. prior to the 10 a.m. funeral on Monday, May 23, also at Maple City Chapel. Pastor Joe Miller will officiate.

Burial will follow at Jackson Cemetery, Benton.
