(8-7-22) The Northeast Ohio Girls Flag Football League, sponsored in part by the Cleveland Browns, held an exhibition during the Hall of Fame Game in Canton this past week.

Kirkland and Lake Catholic put on a show and even saw some time on National TV on NBC.

Highlights included…Kirtland’s Macy McIntosh who scored two touchdowns and picked off a pass for the Hornets. Lake Catholic threw a reverse pass that saw Mia Sassano hit Rachel Tallion for a touchdown pass.

Girls flag football is not a sanctioned OHSAA sport, but after this they might want to consider it. Many schools have played in the past years what was referred to as ‘powder puff’ football. Usually a freshman, sophomore, junior and senior teams would play each other. Northeast Ohio Girls Flag Football League is one step toward making it a sport to consider for the future and watch.
