Coldwater Athletic Department Press Release

(9-9-22) Coldwater Varsity Football has signed a contract to play Valley View for week 1 starting in the 2024 season.  Valley View will head North to Cavalier Stadium on Friday, August 23rd, 2024.  Coldwater will then return the favor and travel South to Valley View on August 22nd, 2025.

Next year (2023) will end the long time week one matchup between Coldwater and Kenton.  Coldwater leads the all-time matchup vs Kenton with 26 wins vs 12 losses including the Cavs winning the last 8 matchups in the series.  Coldwater has played Kenton week one every year since 2000 with the exception of the Year of Covid in 2020.  Coldwater would to thank Kenton for the opportunity to play for so many years and so many great matchups during this time.

The Cavs have won the only game ever playing the powerhouse Valley View team by defeating them in the State Semi finals in 2000.  Valley View is a 3-time State Champion and has made it to State 10 times to go along with 22 playoff appearances.  Valley View is currently ranked 5th in Division V Region 20 for playoff points.  Maxpreps currently has Valley View ranked 10th in Division V.
