IHSA Seeds That Won State Titles, 6 out of 8 Private Schools Win

(11-27-22) The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) crowned 8 football state champions this week in Champaign.

A look at the seeds that picked up title include, 3 #1’s, 1-#2, 1-#4, 2-#6’s and and 1-#11…for average of a #4 seed.

Now we go to an item that will draw a lot of statewide attention, 6 of the 8 titles went to private Catholic schools. That is a pretty high percentage (75%) for any state to produce. Indiana completed its state championships yesterday, 3 of the 6 who won titles were Private schools.

Quality of public school sports is at an all-time low. We can't even compete in soccer/volleyball and even football is 1-4 so far at state. Hopefully the @IHSA_IL sends out some pre-season slideshow videos on how to coach and work harder, we apparently need it.
