(12-8-22) The 21Alive Boys Basketball Player of the Week is Carroll’s 6’4 junior guard Jaxon Pardon.
Pardon scored 33 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals in just three quarters in Carroll’s recent 98-69 win at East Noble. The Chargers are off to a 2-0 start, impressive when you consider that last season they went 2-21. Carroll is a member of the Summit Athletic Conference which features Ft. Wayne, Indiana area schools.
One of Pardon’s biggest fans is well known radio host and TV color man Dan Dakich, who shares often about Jaxon’s future.
One thing you might not have known….Jaxon’s dad, Brandon, was a basketball star at nearby Lincolnview in Middle Point just outside of Van Wert. He left a lasting impact on the area and Ohio basketball. He did it all.
Pardon during his basketball career at Lincolnview helped the Lancers to two appearances in the OHSAA D IV state championship game including a 53-1 record in those two years and the state title in 1997.
After he graduated from Lincolnview Pardon enrolled at Wright State where he was a member of the Horizon League All Freshman Team…Pardon would stay for just one season before transferring to Bowling Green State University. This is before the transfer portal, so he had to sit out a season, and would play for the next three seasons at BG for Coach Dan Dakich. He led the MAC for two seasons in assists. Pardon helped the Falcons to a MAC championship as a senior.
Pardon went on to a two year career playing pro basketball overseas.
