(3-16-23) It was a history making day for Brandywine boys basketball at Coloma last night as the Bobcats beat Centreville 58-35 to win the MHSAA Division 4 Regional title.The trophy will be sure to get a special spot in the trophy case as it is the first ever for Brandywine. The Bobcats busted out to a 17-0 1st quarter lead and never looked back.

Brandywine finished with three players in double figures,led by the Palmers — Jaremiah had 14, Michael had 12 and Jamier finished with 10.

Brandywine Head Coach Nathan Knapp (a Brandywine grad) told MLive after the win

“These kids don’t even realize what they did yet but our school doors opened in 1962 and we’ve gone all that time without a regional title,”

The next step for Brandywine will happen this coming Tuesday when they play Pewamo-Westphalia (19-6) at Portage Central High School at 7 p.m.

Pewamo-Westphalia beat Calvin Christian at the buzzer 63-61 on a tip-in to advance to play Brandywine.
