(4-3-23) According to the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) school directory seven Ohio schools have green in their name…but only three of those seven have green as a part of their school colors.
Green (Uniontown) School Colors: ORANGE / BLACK
Bowling Green – School Colors: SCARLET / GRAY
Greenview – School Colors: RED / BLUE / WHITE
Greenon – School Colors: BLACK / WHITE / RED
Green – (Franklin Furnace) School Colors: Kelly GREEN / WHITE / Black
Evergreen – School Colors: GREEN / GOLD
Greenville – School Colors: GREEN / WHITE

So why did those schools with green in their name decide not to use that in their school colors? Good question, new schools can usually tell you how they selected school colors….but schools that have been around for a long-long-time usually can’t tell how they were selected.
