(4-3-23) According to the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) school directory seven Ohio schools have green in their name…but only three of those seven have green as a part of their school colors.

Green (Uniontown) School Colors: ORANGE / BLACK

So why did those schools with green in their name decide not to use that in their school colors? Good question, new schools can usually tell you how they selected school colors….but schools that have been around for a long-long-time usually can’t tell how they were selected.

According to schoollockers.com

According to our research, most schools have at least two main colors. Primary colors are a big hit—blue, red and yellow—as well as green, orange and purple. These are often paired with a fairly neutral color (black, brown, gold, gray, silver, white) or each other (blue and yellow, blue and orange, green and yellow, etc.).
