What A Week For Coldwater’s Madison Wendel

(5-5-23) Let this sink in Coldwater’s Madison Wendel is just a Junior. What a week she has had as she continues to roll up the BIG numbers.

Last night in a 6-3 win over Midwest Athletic Conference rival (MAC) Minster she picked up her 700th career strikeout (allowing four hits and three runs while striking out seven and walking one).

Earlier in the week Wendel hit her 28th career home run and 7th this season .in a 7-1 win over Lima Senior. She currently has the all-time Cav career lead in HR’s after hitting 11 as a Freshman and 10 as a Sophomore.

In today’s 10-0 win over Marion Local, Madison Wendel broke the program record for must shutouts in a season with 8. The previous record was 7, held by Madison (2022) and Katie Harlamert (1999 & 2002)
