(7-26-23) 50 years ago Delphos St. John’s and Elida entered the Western Buckeye League (WBL) in December of 1971. 11 years later starting in the 1982-83 school year St. John’s was invited and accepted membership into the Midwest Athletic Conference (MAC).

In 2023 Delphos St. John’s is now considering a possible move to the Northwest Conference (NWC) and leaving the MAC after 40 years of membership.

Western Buckeye League

During their 10 seasons in the WBL St. John’s did not win a football title, over that time they had a 18-71-1 record. But they were very successful in boys basketball winning or sharing 8 titles and a 81-18 overall record in 11 seasons. They were perfect in girls basketball winning 6 titles in 6 seasons and never losing a game in WBL play at 54-0.

Midwest Athletic Conference

Since joining the MAC the Blue Jays have won 10 football championships with an overall record of 158-116, the last time they won a title was 2011 when they tied with Marion Local. They have won 9 MAC boys basketball championships…in 2012-13 they tied with St. Henry for their last MAC title. They have 6 girls basketball MAC titles with their last being in the 2006-07 season.
