(3-1-24) The Celina Girls bowling team won the D I District title yesterday and advanced to the OHSAA State Championships in Columbus for the first time in school history.

Celina Coach Josh Goff
I’ve been sitting here trying to find the right words to post, but really, I just don’t know what to say. I’m so proud of this group and how hard they work every single day. Today’s District Championship wasn’t won today. It was won in the offseason when they all worked and worked to improve and get ready for the season. It was won when they all showed up to open practice in October a month early. It was won when they practice drills, shoot corner pins, and all the other little things that they just do. It was won when they put individual accomplishments aside and went all in on being a team early this season. And most importantly, it was won when they embraced each others’ strengths and weaknesses, did everything it took to be exactly what a great team is. I’m just so proud of who they are and how hard they work. They do things the right way.
We started with a strong 879 which had us in first place after game one. Game 2 was an 830 which moved us back to 3rd. Game 3 was an 894 which moved us back to first place going into bakers. Ryann Eckhardt led us with her first 600 series with a total of 621 which was 2nd place amount all individuals today. Baker games we were match up with Ashland and we went back and forth through the first couple. Everytime it seemed like Ashland was gaining momentum, our girls would just keep pushing forward and at the end of the day they prevailed and are going to State!!
Congratulations Chablis Krick, Piper Gilliland, Kaleah Dailey, Mallory Fortman, Ryann Eckhardt, Chloe Bruce, Brynly Huber, and Corinne Westgerdes.
Thank you to all of our fans for making the trip and being great supporters today. Thank you for those that watch along online as well as those the we saw when we got back to town and at the bowling alley. We are feeling the love!
