Jordan Blackburn

(4-26-24) St. Marys announced on Tuesday, that Jordan Blackburn has been named the new boys basketball coach for the Roughriders. Blackburn most recently was the assistant women’s basketball coach at Ohio Wesleyan University last season and previously spent 16 years coaching at Delaware Hayes High School, with ten of the seasons as the head coach.

As head coach he had a record of 142-88 (.617) as head coach, setting a career mark for winning percentage. Under Blackburn, the Pacers reached double figures in victories in every season, won an Ohio Capital Conference championship, and made 2 appearances in the district tournament, including a spot in the district finals in 2015.

He was named OCC, district, and county Coach of the Year 5 times. In 2015, he was selected to coach Team Ohio in the annual Ohio-Kentucky All-Star game, and in 2017, was chosen to coach Team Ohio in the adidas® national championships. Blackburn began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Reynoldsburg High School.

Blackburn is a 2003 graduate of Ohio University. He began his collegiate career at Ohio Wesleyan, where he lettered twice for the Battling Bishop men’s basketball team. Blackburn continued his education with a master’s degree in psychology and leadership development from Walden (Minn.) University in 2011.

Blackburn replaces Dan Hegemier, who announced his retirement last month.
