(5-17-25) Ottawa-Glandorf swept the Western Buckeye League (WBL) Track and Field Championships held at Defiance this week.

The O-G girls outdistanced 2nd place Bath 137-83.

O-G’s girls made it four in a row and 9th overall… (9): 2025, 24, 23, 22, 07, 06, 05, 04, 1980.

The Titan boys picked up the title with 95.83 points to 2nd place Defiance with 80 points.

The Titan boys picked up their 11th league title and made it back to back wins…(11): 2025, 24, 14, 13, 1978, 77, 72, 71, 70, 69, 67.

O-G’s Anna Buddelmeyer finished first in the mile (1,600; 5:09.29) and second in the 800 (2:22.24).

Ottawa-Glandorf’s 3,200-meter relay (Liana Fortman,Brea Recker, Rose Turnwald, Anna Buddelmeyer) won in 9:43.09. On Friday, O-G’s Alivia Grothause won the 100 (12.71) and the 200 (26.07). Grothause was also part of the winning 800 relay (Gracie Lammers,Emma Heringhaus, Grothause, Averie Fox; 1:46.25), and the winning 400 relay (Lammers, Grothause, Heringhaus, Fox; 49.96).

The O-G girls’ 1,600 relay (Liana Fortman, Brea Recker, Averie Fox, Emma Heringhaus) won in 4:04.59.

Wapakoneta’s Paige Olberding and Grace Burnfield scored well in the hurdles on Friday. Olberding won both the 100 hurdles (15.21) and 300 hurdles (46.54).Burnfield finished a closed second in the 100.

Bath freshman Penny Francis won the 3,200 meter run in a time of 11:54.38. Francis would also finish second in the 1,600 meter run (5:17.41).

On Wednesday, the first day of the WBL Championships, Owen Scott anchored Van Wert’s 3,200-meter relay team (Andrew Laudick, Noah Spath, Evan Keuneke, Scott) that won in a WBL meet-record time of 7:59.21.

In the boys’ 1,600…Scott pulled away from O-G’s Ty Rosengarten late in the race and won in a new meet-record time of 4:14.92.Rosengarten also broke the meet record with a time of 4:21.80. Scott also won Friday’s 3,200 run (9:33.66).

Rosengarten was first in the 800 (2:00.17).

The O-G boys’ 800 relay (Gavin Morman, Jayden Kuhlman, Dane Duling,Deegan Miller) won in 1:30.19.

Shawnee senior Akyus Richardson broke the WBL meet record in the shot put with a toss of 60-5.75.
