(5-14-26) California high school sports once again has caused a national stir with a transgender athlete dominating three jumping events in girls track.

Jurupa Valley’s AB Hernandez, a biological male, has been allowed to compete and dominate in several sports over the past four years.

Hernandez dominated at the recent CIF Southern Section Division 3 track preliminaries.

Hernandez jumped 20 feet and 4 1/4 inches in the long jump. The second and third-place finishers were 19 feet and 1 1/2 inches, and 18 feet and 7 inches.

Hernandez went 42 feet and 4 inches in the triple jump, second-place finishing at 39 feet and 7 1/2 inches and the third place leap was 37 feet and 8 inches.

In the High Jump Division 3 Prelim, Hernandez finished in a first-place tie with Reese Hogan.
