(10-5-26) Christopher Wilson Jr., a 17-year-old senior at Yorktown High School and a four-star defensive end committed to West Virginia, was fatally shot early Monday morning in Muncie. Dispatchers got the call at 2:59 a.m.; he was found dead in a vehicle on East Cromer Avenue, and was shot multiple times.

The 6-foot-6, 235-pound edge rusher was the highest-rated recruit in East Central Indiana — 16 offers, committed to WVU in June over Auburn, Cincinnati and Purdue. Last season he helped Yorktown to a 9-3 record and its first Class 4A sectional championship.

Yorktown Community Schools confirmed Wilson’s death in a statement that was sent to local families.
