(11-7-26) A week after twenty losing-record teams survived to the sectional finals, just two are left — and they play each other next week.
The twenty survivors went 2-18 on Friday night. The only two winners were Chesterton and Concord, and both of them won survivor-vs.-survivor games, so two survivors were guaranteed to lose in those games no matter what.
Every survivor that faced a winning-record opponent lost. There were no upsets over winning-record teams in this round.
By class: 6A went 0-7, 5A went 2-4, 4A went 0-1, 3A went 0-1, 2A went 0-4, and 1A went 0-1.

Chesterton (now 6-5) travels to Concord (now 6-5) for the Class 5A regional championship on Friday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m. The winner advances to the semistate on Nov. 20. Both teams are above .500 now, so no losing-record team remains anywhere in the Indiana tournament.

Three survivors were shut out — Homestead, Columbus North and Bloomington North — and two more lost by 40 or more: Switzerland County by 57 and Knox by 49.
The run, in full
It was a three-week run for the losing-record teams: 30-81 in the sectional openers, 20-39 in the semifinals and first games for 5A/6A, and 2-18 in the finals. The twenty survivors were the last losing-record teams in the field, and eighteen of them went out Friday night. The two that remain face each other for a trip to the semistate.
Records shown are entering Friday’s game.
