(3-22-24) Thanks to a negative vote by the Indiana Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association board on an Indiana Football Coaches Association pilot program to seed the Class 6A football playoffs for a two-year period and the blind draw with ping-pong balls survives another seeding attempt scare.

The IFCA sent the proposal for approval to actually seed teams for the playoffs in 6A. Why in the world would college educated administrators not want to seed, but instead continue to let a blind draw using ping-pong balls continue to set-up the brackets that leads to a state title.

In a two-step approval process…don’t ever look for seeding to pass those hurdles in Indiana…the two groups —the Indiana Athletic Administrators Association (IIAAA) and the the Executive Board of the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA). Both groups show no respect to their football coaching colleagues who want to at least attempt a seeding plan.
