(2-26-17) Northwest Guilford’s (North Carolina) Elizabeth Kitley (6’4 C,PF Sophomore) is this week’s SSN National Girls High School Basketball Player of the Week.

Kitley was a key in Saturday night’s Northwest Guilford’s (27-2) 80-40 win over Dudley in the 4A NCHSAA Sectional Finals. She scored 24 points to help the Vikings move forward to round four in tournament play. Kitley has been diagnosed with mononucleosis, but if last night was any indication she seems ready to go. With the Vikings having just one Senior on the roster, she has had to help with a leadership roll on the team.  Kitley has been getting lots of attention and offers from D1 coaches from around the country this season and continues to impress others.

Northwest Guilford Head Coach Darlene Joyner told greensboro.com after the game:

“She does set the tone. She’s has the largest matchups on the floor. She’s finishing really well right now.”

The Vikings have now won 22 straight games this season, with their last loss coming two weeks before the holiday break in early December.  Northwest Guilford moves on to round four of the tournament.
