(11-3-17) The Coldwater Cavaliers are just one match away from advancing to the OHSAA State Volleyball D III Final Four after knocking off Marion Pleasant 25-22, 25-14, 25-21 on Thursday night.   Saturday at 2pm they will play #3 Eastwood in the Regional Final, the Eagles are 26-0 on the season.

Eastwood is led by an experienced group of Seniors who played big in last night’s win over Ashland Crestview 25-21, 25-16, 25-10 in the semifinals.

Katelyn Meyer, who will play DI volleyball at Bowling Green, had 20 kills, 14 digs and two aces. Hannah Hodulik had eight kills and two aces. Abby Schroeder had six aces and 32 assists and Hailey Riter added 13 digs.

Eastwood Head Coach Jeff Beck told Toledo Blade after the match:

“These seniors know it’s now or never. They’ve been on the varsity for four years. They want it so badly. We had a great run last year. We’ve had only one loss in two years.”

For Coldwater they hope to advance to their second State Finals in program history. In their first and only trip in 1994 they lost to Fairview Park.

The winner of this match will advance to the State Finals at Wright State in Dayton and will play the winner of the Canton Central Catholic-Independence match on Friday, November 10th at 12 Noon.

Also playing in a Regional Final in D III is MAC member Versailles who will play Miami East on Saturday.
