(11-2-17) Friday night opens the 2017 OHSAA high school football playoffs in Ohio and the MAC again will be well represented in three of the seven divisions..

When you take a look at some of the OHSAA State Football playoff records you will see MAC teams in about every record kept, usually more than one member.

The main reason why the MAC is a big part of those records, MAC members have a combined 31 trophies sitting in their trophy cases. Very impressive numbers for the 10 member conference.

Marion Local has won nine state titles, Coldwater, St. Henry Delphos St. Johns and Versailles (only one of the Tigers titles came when they were in the MAC) all have six. In comparison the Western Buckeye League has just six championships as a conference.

Entering the 2017 playoffs, Coldwater has 69 playoff wins, Marion Local 67, Delphos St. John’s 52, Versailles 45 and St. Henry 45, all in the Top 15 in Ohio.

Coldwater currently holds the active consecutive years of making the playoffs at 21.

Marion Local has the best winning percentage of any Ohio school in the playoffs at 67-10 at .810.
