(11-4-17) – In North Carolina, Jared Rolfes and his Page Pirates (10-1, 4-0) picked up the Metro 4-A Conference championship with a 51-7 win over No. 9 Ragsdale. For Rolfes, the former Celina Coach, it was his first championship as a Head Football Coach.

On offense Sophomore QB Javondre Paige had another big game, 12 of 19 for 176 yards and 1 TD and rushed for 65 yards on 11 carries and 2 TDs.

Rolfes told greensboro.com after the game:

“Yeah, we’ve come a long way. I feel like we’ve got things to work on, but our coaches do a good job trying to progress guys in certain positions. I mean our line coach (Josh McGehee) does a great job, coach (Antonio) Hall does a great job with the quarterbacks. It’s just across the board.”

In Arizona, former Celina Head Coach, Mike Fell and Mountain View’s season came to an end losing to Chandler, the defending state champions and #3 seed,  beat the #14 Toros 49-24  in 6A Conference first-round action. The Toros had a tough night as they were down at halftime 42-3.
