(4-14-18) So when you hear that a sprinter in high school track picks up two 3rd place finishes and is the member of the 5th place 4X100 meter relay team, most people would say he had a ‘nice day‘.
But Saturday in the 25 team Mansfield Mehock Relays, Ft. Recovery’s Robby LeFevre did just that, but it was not just another nice day. The Indians’ Junior ran against some of the best D I sprinters in Ohio, not just good sprinters but the ‘cream of the crop‘ in Ohio.
Gahanna Lincoln Sophomore LeCarr Trent won the 100 meter dash and Senior teammate Jerome Buckner was second, Buckner would win the 200 meter dash and Trent was 2nd. LeFevre, who was on the podium in the D III State finals last year, was right behind them in third place in both races.
How good are Trent and Buckner….real good.
Lincoln was last year’s D I State runner-ups, just 7 points behind State Champion Withrow.
Helping Lincoln to win the title, Buckner, as a Junior, was a member of the D I State Champion 4X400 meter relay team and was also a member of the D I State runner-up 4X100 meter relay team.
Carr, who was a Sophomore last year, was the State runner-up in the 100 meter dash.
Joining LeFevre on the 5th place 4X100 meter relay team was Riley Pearson (Soph), Jared Timmerman (Jr) and Brayden Schoen (Jr).
The Indians placed 15th, against a predominately D I field, scored 16 points, thanks in part to LeFevre’s BIG day.
