(4-28-18) Results from Friday night’s 2018 Cardinal Invitational in New Bremen.

Coldwater – Cardinal Invitational Champions

The Coldwater girls track team won the 13-team meet. The Cavs picked up 108.5 points outdistancing New Bremen who had 87.50 points. Marion Local was 5th with 58 points, Parkway was 7th with 48 points and St. Henry was 9th with 39 points.

The Cavs were led by two relay teams, the 4×800 team of Krista and Brittany Walterbusch and Sara and Beth Honingford  and the 4×400 team of Kourtney Diller, Savannah Seibert and Sara and Beth Honingford.

Other Stateline area winners included Marion Local’s Aubrey Thobe in the 100 meter hurdles and St. Henry’s Alexis Heath in the 800 meter run.

New Bremen picked up three 1st place wins in the field events,  Elli Roetgerman won the high jump, teammate Celeste Kuck won the pole vault and Macy Puthoff won the long jump

Anna nipped Marion Local by one point 119-118 to win the boys meet. Coldwater was 5th with 57.5 points, Parkway 6th with 45 points and St. Henry 7th with 43.5 points.

The Flyers were led by two-event winner John Dirksen who won the discus and shot put.

Parkway’s Matt Gaerke picked up two distance wins, winning both the 1,600 and 3,200 meter runs. Gaerke duplicated his performance from a week ago at Waynesfield-Goshen.

St. Henry’s Devin Huelskamp won the 800 meter run, while Marion Local’s 4×400 meter relay team of Luke Schwieterman, Austin Kremer, Caleb Bruns and John Tangeman picked up the win.
