(6-1-18) It was a good day for Stateline area athletes on the first day at the OHSAA State Track and Field meet in Columbus.
With many events competing in prelims to qualify for state finals tomorrow, one local champion picked up a state title.
The Minster girls stood atop of the podium after winning the 4×800 meter relay team (Francis , Albers , Watcke , Magoto) outdistancing 2nd place Gilmour Academy by 12 seconds 9:18.41-9:30.2.

In the girls long jump, Minster’s Paige Thobe finished 5th with a jump of 17′ 3.75 jump and New Bremen’s Macy Puthoff was right behind her in 6th with a jump of 17′ 1.5.
Minster’s Grace Butler finished 5th in the pole vault with an 11′ vault.

In the boys discus Waynesfield-Goshen Brock Waitman (163′) was the state runner-up, while John Prenger (160’11) finished in third.
