(6-1-18) For Bradford 2018 has been a dream season, today that season came to an end in a heartbreaking loss to Hillsdale 1-0 in an OHSAA D IV state semifinal game in Akron.
It was no surprise to anyone that it turned out to be a pitcher’s duel, Hilldale’s Sydney Long (Ohio Dominican commit) and Skipp Miller (Ohio University commit) didn’t let anyone down.
The result was a hard fought 8 inning thriller, Long would strike out 13 and walk just 1, while Miller struck out 7 and also just walked just 1, both pitchers gave up 6 hits.
But in the end it would be a Miller wild pitch in the bottom of the 8th with two out and the bases loaded that Hillsdale would score the only run of the game and advance to the state final game on Saturday.
