(8-26-18) Two former Celina football coaches had different results this weekend. In North Carolina, Jared Rolfes and his Page Pirates handled Northern Guilford 48-0, while in Arizona Mike Fell and his Mountain View Toros lost to Perry 42-7.
Although Page picked up the win they would rather forget their first half of play that saw the Pirates take just a 6-0 halftime lead over Northern Guilford. But after regrouping at halftime, the second half they would look like an entirely different team.
Leading the way again with over 300 yards of total offense was QB Javondre Paige, who was 12-of-21 passing for 241 yards, 3 TDs, 79 yards rushing and 2 TDs.
Next week Page will face top-ranked Dudley who will come into the game at 2-0 after they beat Ragsdale 42-7 this past weekend.
After the game Rolfes told greensboro.com:
“Next Friday is huge. It’s probably the biggest game I’ve played in my life. We just have to come in focused and we’ll get it done.”

Mike Fell’s Mountain View dropped to 1-1 on the season with a road loss to Perry 42-7 in a game that ended after the 1st half of action. The officials decided to delay the start of second half due to lightning approaching the stadium and eventually decided to not resume play.
The Toros could not stop the Pumas who would score six touchdowns on consecutive possessions.
