(10-20-18) It was a busy day for Stateline area D III boys and girls cross country teams in Ottawa at the Nortwest District Meet.

Boys District Ottawa – District 1
Parkway had a strong day as they finished as the District Runner-up in Ottawa’s District 1 losing out to Lincolnview for the title 30-62. The Panthers were led by Kyle Roth and Matt Gaerke who finished 4th and 5th, while Aaron Bruns was 13 and Blake Strickler was 15.
Coldwater qualified for Regionals next week finishing 4th, Isaac Schoen led the Cavs with a 6th place finish, while Andrew Schoen was 10th.
Girls District Ottawa – District 1
Minster 2018 District Champions
Defending State Champion Minster hopes to defend its title as they picked up the District 1 title, outdistancing Lincolnview 23-91.
The Tigers Emma Watcke led the way with a first place finish in a time of 18:58.1. Teammate Kaitlyn Albers was 2nd, Mackenzie Bohman was 5th, Gwendolyn Meiring was 6th and Madeline Magoto was 9th. Plus, Emma Mayer was 10th and Mason Pohl 12th.
Ft. Recovery also qualified for Regionals with a 4th place finish. The Indians were led by Chloe Will who finished 12th
Boys District Ottawa – District 2
Minster came in a very close 2nd to Columbus Grove 31-37. Alex Albers picked up the District 2 title with a 1st place finish in a time of 16:42.0. The Tigers Jon Albers was 4th, Luke Barga was 6th, Austin Felice was 11th and Aaron Huwer was 15th.
St. Henry’s Blake Ontrop led the Redskins to a Regional berth placing 16th and a team 4th place finish.
Qualifying for Regionals as an individual is Ft. Recovery’s Drew Muhlenkamp.
Girls District Ottawa – District 2
Coldwater picked up the Northwest District 2 title edging out Columbus Grove 49-55 to advance to the Regionals next week.
The Cavs were led by a 2nd place finish by freshman Haley Alig, Beth Honingord was 7th, Sara Honinford was 9th, Brittany Walterbusch was 15th and Colby Homan 16th.

New Bremen finished 3rd to advance to the Regional next week, Andrea Heitkamp who was 11th and Alyana Thieman who was 13th.
Qualifying as individuals to the Regiuonal next week, Marion Local’s Kelsey Broering was 4th, St. Henry’s Lauren Hemmelgarn was 8th and teammate Katie Kunkler was 12th.
Celina ended their season finishing 6th with 139 points, Van Wert won the meet 70 points.
Qualifying for the Bulldogs as an individual was Ethan Ly who finished in 6th place.
In D II at Ottawa, Celina finished 5th, just 12 points behind Kenton and misses out on a Regional berth.
Two Bulldogs qualify for Regionals as individuals, Joscelyn Dameron who was 6th and Carleigh Ross was 8th.
