(11-3-18) The Marion Local community lost their beloved friend, math teacher and football coach Dan Thobe.
‘Play Strong, Stay Strong, Super Strong’
This past year Thobe was diagnosed with a Grade 3 glioma tumor , his battle with the disease ended this weekend.
It is the second loss of a beloved member of the Marion Local community, in June long-time Flyer AD and Coach Stan Wilker passed away.
Reaction on twitter to the loss of Dan Thobe:

The 🌎 lost one of the great ones tonight. I coached with Dan Thobe for 2 yrs & he was everything a parent & player would wish for in a coach. He always put others first, and would go out of his way to help any person in need. Thoughts and prayers to the Thobe’s & ML community.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Marion Local community today. Dan and I started our careers together at VB same year, became head coaches there the same year as well. A phenomenal teacher and coach, but an even better man. Our best to his family. Gone way too soon.
