(11-15-18) Ft. Recovery’s Olivia Patch (Jr 6’2) announced this week that she has committed to continue her academic and basketball playing career at D II Hillsdale College.

Patch, one of the top Junior prospects in the state, has been a key member of the Indians during her career. Plus she had has had the opportunity to play for her dad Brian, the head coach.

Ft. Recovery Head Girls Basketball Coach Brian Patch talks about his daughter’s decision:

I am so happy for Olivia as her coach and father. Hillsdale is the school she wanted to go to from day 1 because of its high academic standards. Then as we got to know the coaching staff and visited campus, she immediately fell in love with Hillsdale. The coaches at Hillsdale were the first coaches to contact Olivia to show interest and have been highly active with her in the recruiting process. Olivia felt very comfortable with them to make the decision to commit to the school and staff in her junior year.

It’s very rewarding knowing how much time she has spent in the gym working over the years to see that payoff for her. Liv is just a kid who tries to do everything the right way and to the best of her ability. I have been fortunate enough to help a lot of kids over the years reach their dreams of playing at the collegiate level. It was a great experience to go through it with my own child and as a family. Our family feels very blessed for Liv to have this opportunity. A lot of her AAU teammates from the Dayton Lady Hoopstars Premier team will be playing for GMAC schools so, it will be fun to see all of them play each other. One of those teammates being her Ft Recovery teammate, Val Muhlenkamp, who gave a verbal to Findlay University earlier this year.

Olivia, her mother Anne, and I would like to thank all of her teachers and coaches over the years who helped get her to this position.
