(11-16-18) So how do you top an OHSAA D I State Bowling Championship? Celina’s Parker Mauer celebrated last season’s State Title when he kicked off the new season with a 300 game (school record) in the first game of the night. To make that game that more impressive…Mauer is still recovering from a torn labrum surgery in his left shoulder (injured playing baseball, diving back into third base), with his left arm still in a sling, he bowls two handed.
Thanks to Mauer’s fast start Celina would handle Mercer County rival Parkway 3,042- 2,284.
Mauer would roll a 213 in his second game for a 513 series, right behind him was (Freshman) Britton Hole with a 471 (234-237) series and Nathan Langenkamp with a 411 series (216-195).
Leading Parkway was Coby James with a 409 (185-224) series.
Scoring-
- Celina 2,124 – 918 = 3,042
- Parkway 1,472 – 812 = 2,284
In the girls match, Celina opened the season with a 2,020- 1,306 win over Parkway. Abby Ehler rolled the Bulldogs high game with a 162.
