(12-12-18) The Greater Western Ohio Conference made it official today by voting to ‘kick out’ Trotwood-Madison” from the group.
GWOC members had several concerns:
- a disparity in enrollment
- inability to field teams below the varsity levels in some sports.
Recently Lebanon announced it was leaving the GWOC for the Eastern Cincinnati Conference that would leave the conference iwth just nine members, the problem solves for the remaining eight schools future football scheduling, Beavercreek, Centerville, Fairmont, Miamisburg, Northmont, Springboro, Springfield, and Wayne beginning the 2020-21 school year.
- Why was Trotwood-Madison left out of the mix in the formation of a new conference?
- Greater Western Ohio Conference Members ‘Dump’ Trotwood-Madison
It’s the second time the Rams have been ‘left behind’ , in February they found out that the GWOC North division members were leaving to start a new conference (Miami Valley League), but left them out of the mix.
