(3-30-19) Celina grad Seth Lonsway made his Big 10 pitching debut one to remember. The red shirt Freshman threw a two hit, 12 strike out shut out to beat Rutgers in his Big 10 debut in New Jersey on Saturday afternoon.
Lonsway continues to be impressive this season as he continues to strike out opposing hitters, the 12 today was a career best. He currently leads the Buckeyes staff with 51 K’s on the season. The rest of his stats were just as impressive in the 9 innings win, just three hits and two walks and he lowers his ERA to 3.76.
Brady Cherry provided all the runs Lonsway would need when he hit a 2 run home run in the first inning.
The last time Ohio State had a pitcher throw a complete game shut-out was when Ryan Riga did it four years ago at Rutgers on 3/29/15.
