(5-9-19)  Rockford Jefferson loses a football coach and Rockford Lutheran gains one.

It was announced yesterday that Tony Ambrogio will be the next Head Football Coach at Rockford Lutheran, he replaces Chuck Leonard who led the Crusaders for two seasons and went 3-15.

Ambrogio became the head coach at Jefferson in 2017 just days before the first practices of the fall when Ken DuBose was suddenly relieved of his duties by RPS 205’s Director of Athletics Matt Parker. DuBose just became the new head football coach at Beloit Memorial in February.

Ambrogio went 1-17 in his two seasons with the J-Hawks. Ambrogio’s biggest success came when he was the head coach at Christian Life for several years. Shortly after Ambrogio left Christian Life for Jefferson the program started to play 8-man football.
