(7-31-19) Ryan Bruns,  former Ohio Northern and Marion Local grad has signed with the Spanish pro basketball team Aquimisa Carbajosa of the Liga Espanola de Baloncesto Aficionado (EBA).

Bruns said in an ONU article:

“I’m very excited to be able to continue my basketball career at the next level with Aquimisa Carbajosa. This is something I never thought would be possible at the start of my college career, but throughout the years at ONU I was able to improve my game, and now have the opportunity to play at the next level. I’m very excited to be able to represent ONU at the next level.”

Bruns  averaged a team-high 21 points per game on 50.6 percent shooting as a senior  at Ohio Northern during the 2018-19 season. He also added 8.8 rebounds, 2.4 blocks and two assists per contest.

Bruns was named a second team All-American by D3hoops.com for the second consecutive year, first team All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors for the second season in a row,. Bruns was the OAC Player of the Yearas a junior when he averaged 24 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game.

While at Northern Bruns  was the school’s fourth all-time leading scorer with 1,686 points,  ranks 11th in rebounding, with 723 and first in blocks with 250.

Aquimisa Carbajosa is located in Carbajosa de la Sagrada, which is a municipality in the province of Salamanca. The team went 14-12 last season and won seven of their final eight games.
