(2-8-20) St. Marys won the 2020 WBL Boys Bowling Championship yesterday at Varsity Lanes in St. Marys. The Roughriders, who are 8-0 on the regular season, need one regular season match win to capture the overall league title.
The Roughriders outscored Auglaize County rival Wapakoneta 3,838 to 3,757 to win the tournament. The Redskins led after regular round 2,782-2,769. St. Marys would come back in the baker games to outscore Wapakoneta 1,069-975.
St. Marys placed two bowlers in the top 10, Derek Fisher had the high series of 652, thanks to an opening game of 259. He was joined by teammate Cameron Now who rolled a 630 series, including a 244 and 235 game.
Wapakoneta had three bowlers in the top 10, Kris Ridenour (633), Caige Schnarre (626) and Sam Wagner (569).
Celina’s Britt Hole finished in the top 10 with a 543 series and game high 201.
