(5-13-21) Yesterday at Shawnee the first day of the Western Buckeye League (WBL) Track and Field Meet was held. After the first day the O-G girls were in first, while Van Wert led the boys meet.
The final day of competition is at Shawnee at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
WBL – Girls Day 1
Ottawa-Glandorf won the 3,200 meter relay, followed by Van Wert and St. Marys.
In girls high jump, Ottawa-Glandorf’s Myka Aldrich was first with Bath’s Lucy Deters taking second and Celina’s Olivia Rider finishing third.
Kenton’s Tatum Miller picked up the title in the discus, Celina’s Amelia Lutz was the runner-up and Ottawa-Glandorf’s Emma Hoffman finsidhed third.

WBL – Boys Day 1
Elida’s Connor Douglass won the pole vault and teammate Easton Osting was runner up. Shawnee’s Ethan Morgan finished in the third spot.
Van Wert picked up 1st and 2nd place in the long jump, Dru Johnson finished 1st and Ethan Brown finished second. Shawnee’s Kayshaun Booher picked up third place.
Bath;s Blaze Maynard was first inthe boys shot put, St. Marys’ Hunter Fultz finished second and Shawnee’ Shandon Sewell picked up third place.
In the 3,200 meter relay Van Wert was first, followed by Shawnee and then Defiance.
